Dear Andy, 2006, Mickey and My James, 2008, are monumental postcards, fabricated in compressed lint, that Kelly wrote in commemoration of the three Civil Rights activists – Chaney, Schwerner and Goodman – murdered by Ku Klux Klan members in the 1964. This moving fictional correspondence tells the victims that their killers have been brought to justice forty years later. Kelly vectorized her own handwriting for the lint process to create awareness that the story is filtered through another voice.
