World on Fire Timeline marks a passage in time, beginning in 1949 with the arms race and peace activism, through civil rights protest to climate crisis movements of the present. Personal and political facts unfold in a way that is ultimately non-linear and suggestive of the unconscious process of remembering. The Timeline reflects the interests/themes of the last twenty years of Kelly’s project-based work. Collage is combined with the lint medium in six contiguous sections to form one work, which was exhibited for the first time at Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles, July-August, 2020.
