Dear Andy, Mickey and My James are postcards Kelly imagined were written by the relatives of three American Civil Rights activists – Chaney, Schwerner and Goodman – murdered by Ku Klux Klan members in the 1960s. This moving fictional correspondence tells the victims that their killers have been brought to justice forty years later. Kelly vectorized her own handwriting for the lint process to create awareness that the story is filtered through another voice. The project again returns to the theme of mother and child. |
